Shared Solar Project

Shared Solar Option

Shared solar EXPANSION

MGE is seeking to expand its Shared Solar program, our innovative solar option launched in 2016. Participating
customers receive the benefits of locally generated solar power without installing solar panels themselves. The program began with a 500-kilowatt (kW) solar array on the roof of the City of Middleton Municipal Operations Center. Now, we're seeking to expand the program, which is currently sold out. Be among the first to learn about how to participate as our expansion plans move forward. Visit mge.com/SharedSolar to join the waiting list.

The clean, renewable electricity generated through Shared Solar helps the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and by helping to manage fuel costs that can increase over time. Our partnership with customers and the City of Middleton advances MGE’s long-term framework, Energy 2030, under which we have set the goal of supplying 30% of our retail electric sales with renewable energy by 2030 and reducing carbon emissions at least 40% from 2005 levels by 2030. Working together, we can reach our shared goal of a more sustainable energy
future.
