Shared Solar Project

Shared Solar Option

Shared solar EXPANSION

MGE expanded its community solar program in 2020 with a new array at Middleton Municipal Airport. Participating customers receive the benefits of locally generated solar power with a stable price for 25 years. The program began with a 500-kilowatt (kW) solar array on the roof of the Middleton Municipal Operations Center. Now, an additional 3.5 megawatts (MW) is available to help serve Shared Solar participants. Visit mge.com/SharedSolar to sign up for the waiting list.

Clean Renewable Electricity

The clean, renewable solar electricity generated through Shared Solar helps the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and also helps manage fuel costs that can increase over time. This partnership with customers, the City of Middleton and the Middleton Municipal Airport also advances MGE’s Energy 2030 framework and our net-zero by 2050 goal. If we can go further faster by working together with our customers, we will.
